An annual native to the west Mediterranean, but found throughout south Europe, rocket is highly popular as a salad vegetable.
The new variety ‘Scorpion’ is noted for its strong flavoured, mustard-like leaves, which can be eaten raw or cooked.
It can reach 0.5m tall. Its white flowers bloom in racemes from May to September.
Prefers moist soil, and will grow happily in semi-shade or full sun.
