This unusual succulent is a native to South Africa.
Growing as a small shrub, it has succulent leaves and a pachycaul stem, reaching a maximum height of around 20cm, its stem can reach a diameter of around 10 cm. Flowers are red and yellow.
Tylecodon sheds its leaves in summer, and requires a dryer soil in summer months.
Grow in light shade and protect from strong sunlight.
Handle plants carefully as all Tylecodons are poisonous.
Minimum temperature around 5 - 8°C.
