Synsepalum Dulcificum - Miracle Berry Fruit - Sour to Sweet Fruit
Synsepalum Dulcificum is a native to West Africa, and a most unusual fruit in that the flesh of the berry, once eaten with make sour foods to taste sweet. The berries themselves are somewhat tasteless.
It is a fairly slow growing shrub with dense foliage with leaves from 5 to 10 cm long, mid green and form predominantly at the end of branches in clusters. White, plain looking flowers are followed by the bright red berries, each around 2cm long with a single seed.
Grows to a height of between 2 and 4 meters.
