Sinningia Leucotricha - Caudex Forming Succulent
This very unusual plant from the rain forests of South America has a globular overground tuber from which the large 8 to 14cm fleshy leaves will grow during the summer growing months. These leaves are covered in silver hairs, giving the whole plant a fuzzy appearance. Bright red but short lived flowers will appear throughout the growing months.
In the winter period, the plant will loose its leaves and go dormant, until the next spring when a new set of leaves will appear.
Tolerant of cold down to around -1°C, but should be protected against prolonged cold.
