A native of the northwest Cape of South Africa, Massonia Echinata is a winter grower, and like other members of the species, grows a pair of broad leaves that lie flat on the ground, reaching up to around 25cm long. Leaves are hairy or slightly prickly to the touch. Leaves are oblong to elliptic in shape.
The flowers grow from the center of the pair of leaves, tubular in shape with long anthers, white and purple in colour and highly scented. Blooms appear during the winter months
Frost tender and should be kept above 5°C.
