Lachenalia Elegens v Elegens - Cape Hyacinth
Lachenalia Elegens v Elegens is a bulb forming native to a small range of Namaqualand, western South Africa, generally found growing in rocks and on sandy flats between hills. It has two bright green lanceolate leaves.
This species produces a short fat spike of attractive rose pink unusual flowers, pale pink towards the tip from mid July to the end of September.
This is one of the species prefers extra drainage to by increasing the quantity of sharp sand in the potting mix.
Grows to around 15 cm tall, and tolerates cold down to 5°C in frost free positions..
