Zucchini / Courgette 'Black Beauty'
Known as a zucchini in North America or as a courgette in the United Kingdom and Europe, these summer vegetables are a kind of marrow, with a neutral flavour and thick rind.
Courgette plants are shrub-like, reaching up to 30cm tall with broad, palmate leaves up to 15cm long and yellow flowers. The fruits are quick growing, produced at the base of the plant, reaching up to 20cm long. Highly popular in cuisines around the world, they are rich in vitamins A and C.
The Black Beauty variety has a dark green skin, producing fruits after around 50 days.
