Amaranthus caudatus is a short lived perennial, often grown as an annual originaly native to Africa and India.
It is a small shrub growing with green red or purple stems, and light green 15 cm long leaves.
From summer to early autumn, it produces long tassles of dense green flowers, up to 60 cm long.
Grows to a height of between 1 and 1.5 meters and spread of around 75 cm.
Perennial where grown with minimum temperatures 0°C. Flowers in its 1st year, so grown as an annual.
