Echinops Sphaerocephalus - Great globe thistle
Echinops Sphaerocephalus is a vigorous growing perennial native to Central and Southern Europe and Russia.
It grows with spiny lobed grey green leaves, to around 15 cm long, hairy underneath.
From Mid to late Summer, perfectly spherical heads of many grey / blue flowers appear on stout grey stems, up to around 6 cm across.
Grows to a height of around 2 meters and a spread of around 60 cm.
Fully hardy to -15°C and under.
