Dioscorea Elephantipes, is a vine like plant native to Africa with large dark green heart shaped leaves.
The climbing vine can reach around 2 meters and it produces a spherical caudex above ground marked with deep fissures resembling the shell of a tortoise!
The caudex can reach diameters of up to 1 meter, though this will take many years.
