Chili Pepper - Jalapeno - Capsicum Annuum
The Jalapeño Chili Pepper is medium-sized, around 5 – 10 cm long, 2 - 4 cm wide and hangs down with a round, firm, smooth flesh. It is of mild to medium heat, ranging between 2500 and 10,000 Scoville units.
Small brown lines May appear, the number of these scars on the pepper has a positive correlation with heat level, as growing conditions which increase heat cause the pepper to form scars. More commonly sold as ‘unscarred’ ones as these are considered more palatable for shoppers.
Easy to grow, each plant will produce many Chilis, which can be used fresh or dried and used at a later date.
