Chili - Cascabel
Also known as the Rattle Chili for the way it sounds when the dried fruits are shaken! Originally from Mexico and called the ‘chile bola’ in Spanish, meaning ‘ball chili’ due to its cherry-like shape.
Fruits mature to a deep reddish brown colour and measure up to 5cm across when fully grown. When dried, the seeds rattle around within the tough skins.
A particularly mild chili, measuring between 1000 to 2500 on the Scoville scale, with a nutty and smokey flavour. Perfect for adding to salsas and marinades!
