Caudex Succulent Plant
This strange looking plant from South Afirica, is an easy to grow climber, with an unusual onion shaped bulb, giving it the common name of The Climbing Onion or Sea Onion.
The bulb can reach 20cm in diameter and the plant can climb to 2.5m.
In late winter the stem starts to grow and will climb up whatever it can, so a support is necessary. When mature its dense branches give a full appearance. In the Autumn, the plant dies back and has a dormant period before its next growing season.
