Basil - Thai Queenette
A native to Thailand, this distinctive Basil is perfect for using in the kitchen and as an ornamental herb in the garden.
Reaching up to 30cm tall with leaves reaching up to 5cm long, it is a striking plant for its colours alone. Leaves are an olive green on a red/purple stem, with small purple/white flowers.
Considered important in Asian dishes and marinades, it has a unique flavour similar to clove and mint, with some reporting hints of liquorice or anise as well. Leaves can be eaten raw or cooked into dishes, or even dried and used later.
Reaches maturity in around 90 days.
