Adenium Somalense - Caudex Pachycaul
This Adenium is a native to Arabia and East Africa, notably Somalia and can grow to a height of about 1 to 2 meters.
Its swollen, often twisted trunk is pale grey notably swollen at the base, with many tall upright branches. The leaves are dark green and glossy, and the flowers, which appear almost continuously, are funnel shaped and range from white and bright pink to crimson, red. Flower colour is variable between different plants.
Care should be given when growing these as it has a highly toxic sap which in some places is used as a poison for arrows.
Requires a dry dormant winter.
